2015 In Review

It's been a heck of a year. We celebrated our 2nd year in our home. We have made huge improvements and it doesn't look the same. Still a lot to go but we will get there.
Had some crap jobs this year but finally landed a great job. Who would have thought I'd like working for MODOT. I do like it though. I work with some great people that are very supportive and go above and beyond to help you succeed.
I had major surgery and discovered that symptoms I was experiencing were caused by the issue. I've since gotten much better. I am forever grateful for the support of my love Wes. He is my rock.
We took in some rescue horses. Three were running loose, ungrateful owners were found and they were insulted because I charged them. Needless to say I won't do that again. As a matter of fact we are full and we won't be taking any more rescues in the near future. Our blind rescue will be leaving to go to his new home and start his new career soon.
We now have 3 stallions. We added AJ and two mares that are in foal to our herd.
Thank you Jodi for such beautiful wonderful horses. I believe that is 5 now. Lol.
We helped a friend move. It was actually fun and we got it all done. Life changed drastically after that move for the friend of mine. Big changes for the better.
Wes and I are as happy as can be. I finally got a dishwasher!! Yah! Wes is the most wonderful man and he is my everything.  Closing out another year together and starting another....together. I can't imagine it any other way. We bought junk food, movies and such to bring in the new year. I think we would rather go to bed.  I know I would. It will be a race here in a bit I'm sure. We are going to watch New York and call it good. Dogs are already passed out. I've been sick (suspect pneumonia)
So sleep would be great.
Amanda and Anje are thriving in Arizona. They are super happy there. She has bought her own house now and while I do miss her so much I am so happy to see her doing so well.
We'll that's about it for now. Can't really think of much more but then I'm really tired.
Have a safe and happy new year.

See you next year!!

The Story Continues.....

Steele is doing great and anxiously awaiting his new owner to pick him up. There is an addition to this story as well but I will not announce it until it's set in stone.
Steele will go on to have an amazing career and have the best of everything. He has an amazing new owner that will arrive soon after January 4th.

I hate people

Ok so most people make me ill. The owners of the loose horses finally discovered they were gone today which was day 15. Then they came over without the trailer so we hauled them back home in the dark with no trailer lights. Then they tried to get the horses off the trailer without paying the board bill. Wes stopped them,  Said no money for board then no horses. Old man started mouthing off so I mouthed right back. They were not appreciative of the care the horses received.  Next time I won't pick them up. He flipped my bitch switch and that's not good. He tried to say he wouldn't have money for Christmas and I replied, well we all have problems.
The saga ends with them paying the board bill and me leaving ruts in their yard with my trailer. Oh well. Guess they will watch their horses better now.
Assholes.

Steele Update

I spoke with Steeles adopter today. Very very nice. She will be coming to get him about the 2nd week in January.  He will be living like a king and will have a run out stall with his own pasture and the facility also has another blind horse. The dental specialist comes to the facility on a regular basis as well as an eye specialist and the veterinarian.
I can not wait to see him progress and blossom in his new life.

Pictures from Today

A friend of mine who is keeping her horse Beauty at our place temporarily was out today and playing with beauty. Excellent pic.

December 20th  and weed flowers in the yard.
Wes named her Wildfire. In foal to AJ for 2016 foal. She is an awesome mare. I brought 3 horses home from Jodi's yesterday.

Shelter is up and complete. All I have to do now is seal the roof.
AJ
What can I say. He is amazing
Trick and AJ got the squealing and stomping out of the way. The only one squealing was Trick.
Lakota. In foal to JD another of Jodi's studs.

Lakota
I so love this stud
You hunk!
Lakota and her baby belly. She is huge.
Steele is doing great, has gained weight and will be going to the vet soon to get everything he needs. He has a very bright future in a therapeutic program on the East coast at a huge very nice facility.  Adoption is pending reference check. Again due to privacy we will update pictures of his progress but his new owners will be kept confidential.
Steele tilting his head listening to me talk to him today. He really is a great horse.

Pictures to come

Today Laurie and I went to get AJ, Lakota and Wildfire.  Lakota is in foal and Wildfire is in foal to AJ. It was almost dark so I didn't get pictures today but I will tomorrow.  Wes build a shelter while we were gone. It's really nice.
AJ and the boys played over the panels. They will be running together in no time.
We hauled Laurie's black mare to a friend's place but once there we found the fence to be to low and so she is boarding here until the stable her other horse is at opens up the new pasture.
The gelding that was one of the 3 that I got off of 69 hwy will be sold to a friend down the road. He is looking for a riding horse. I was going to keep him but don't need another rider. We have several.
We do have access to another pasture a few miles away so some of the horses will go over there. Trick will not go over there.

It's been a long day and I'm exhausted.
Pictures to come.

Updates

Ok so here are some updates:
The black mare goes to her new home Saturday morning. She will be about 5 minutes from me so that will be awesome.
Below is Red. He is going to be staying here as one of our riding horses.
Red and the black mare in the rain the other day. I'm glad it was warm.
Our latest is Steele who is looking better and doing great. More pictures to come this weekend.  He will be going to the vet as soon as I can pin down a Saturday appointment.  With next week being Christmas it's a bit hard to do. He has his stall bedded with shavings now, thank you Ginger, and got dewormer.  He has learned the parimeters of his stall and no longer just stands in one place. He has a big stall. He finds his hay, water and grain with ease. He is a real good boy.
We have sent an adoption application to a home offer so we will see where that goes. It is out of state and they want to train him and put him in their program they have for developmentally disabled children. I really hope this one goes through. It will be an excellent career for him in an absolutely beautiful place.
For privacy reasons his adoptive family will remain private but updates and pictures will be posted and we will be monitoring him and his progress. There will also be a contract. We will be sure he has the best home.
Below is Lakota. She is our new Grulla and white mare. She will be arriving Saturday. She will foal summer of 2016.

Lakota was a surrogate mom to an orphan foal this year. She is a really nice mare. I've always liked her since I saw her.
Last but certainly not least is AJ. He will be home Saturday along with Lakota. I'm super excited about him. I have coveted this stud for a long time. I am very happy to be able to have him.
He is 2 years old and a hunk.

Good Balance and Done

Well never thought this day would come but here it is.
We have our riding horses, our retired horse, our mares and our stallions and a couple rescues. We are full. There will be no more after AJ and Lakota get home. We will have 21 horses which includes Steele.
That's it! Done!

Steele

Steele is doing great. He knows where his water is, his food dish and hay. He is excellent about his stall being cleaned. I just talk to him and pet him the whole time. He let's me move him over. He talks to the other horses and wants to go out but that isn't happening right now.
He is settling in very well.

Thank you

Thank you to all that are wanting to donate to Steel. He is blind and was bought for $15 at an auction yesterday. He is very trusting and is resting comfortably in his stall in the barn. He is young and despite his blindness he has the ability to be a good horse. Blind horses can be trained to ride. It's all about trust. Steel was thrown away like garbage. It's not right. He has potential.

It's official

Well I waited to make sure this is what Jodi wanted to do.
Jodi and Ed will be traveling and showing a lot. They have World champion horses including stallions. They have over 80 horses. Since they will be traveling all over the country (he is a millionaire and owns homes and ranches everywhere ) and Jodi knows I have loved AJ forever and Lakota, she is selling them to me. She will still have full access to Ajax not because she asked but because I offered it to her. She has amazing stock and I'm honored she would entrust me with these 2. Weather permitting they will arrive here next weekend.

Jodi has finally found the happiness she has deserved for so long. I hear so much happiness in her now. Jodi and I have been such good friends and we have talked so much and I am so happy for her. Jodi, don't forget us when you are socializing with Terry Bradshaw, William Shatner,  Lyle Lovett and the rest of yall friends. Hey and next week when you fly to Vegas for dinner and go to Chris Angels house, say hi for me.

It's been a busy week

This is Red. He is our new horse. He rides really nice. A friend of mine found him and 2 others loose. All attempts were made to find the owner to no avail. I spoke with a Sgt at Clay County Sherriff office and he said all attempts were made so I can do what I wish with them.
One went to a great home, one is ours and one is pending a new home. All were broke to ride.
Here is Steel. He is blind, was left at an auction where someone I know Pais $15 for him. He is blind and was thrown away. He will remain here until he can be accepted at Changing Leads Equine Rescue.  They are better set up for his special needs. Should he not be able to go there he will be cared for here. He will be sponsored by a friend of mine. If need be we will make permanent accommodations for him here. He is currently relaxing in a stall in the barn.
