Winter

Well I guess winter finally arrived.  It was cold, dreary and windy today and more standing water and mud that's like soup. It's horrible. All the colts and younger ones need to stay under the shelter.
Pretty sure Sadie has Lymphoma. I'm keeping her comfortable.  She is the walker coon hound that came with the house when we bout it 10 years ago and she was 2 or 3 years old then. She's living in the house now and staying warm, dry and on meds. Her color is pale. She isn't in pain though. She does sleep a lot.
Sleeping all day tomorrow sounds like a plan for me.

Rescues

I just discovered that the equine rescue I adopted one of my mares from is no longer in business, no longer exists! YAY!!! Apparently people became wise to their real deal like I did. I was threatened by that organization and had to hire an attorney.  After a year of fighting with them, they finally came to the realization that they had no case. They tried two different complaints and neither one held water. I still have my beautiful mare and now there is no way they could ever take her.
They use to adopt out horses, then find a loophole and take them away from adopting family and then adopt them out again , over and over and over again.
Now they are DONE!!!! Hallelujah!! I just wonder how they went down. 🤔

Boys will be boys

Went out to feed this morning and one of the boys kicked me. One hoof to the gut and one to my face. Face is sore buti don't think you can tell I got kicked there. I thought I was leaning on Luke but now I wonder if it was Jinx. Hard to tell them apart these days.

Mavis

Introducing the beautiful Mavis. She is a little shit. She's 5 yrs old and acts like a 2 yr old. She needs to have her little butt kicked by a herd mate to make her realize she is not a badass.
We will work on it together ❤️.

Larry, Mo and Curly

Wes calls the boys Larry, Mo and Curly.  They are growing so fast. My little fat babies. Josie's passing made me love them more. Plan on playing with them tomorrow before work and before rain. I hope the rain goes around us so mud can dry up more.

Miss Josie

I am so mixed with emotion over the loss of Josie. It's very hard. A friend,  Emily,  brought over 2 of her horses to stay while she puts up a fence. One is Mavis, a little Arabian, and Fiona. They at least keep my mind occupied along with the boys. The boys are coming around and even Drifter lets me pet him. Luke is coming around too. Jinx is standing firm on screw you people. Emily wants me to keep Mavis. She is an ornery shit to say the least. I plan on going and playing with her tomorrow.  I don't have to leave for work until 2:30 so I'll have some time. Unfortunately I'm working Saturday as well. Ugh. I'm only doing one weekend day a month and I'll hold them to it. I'm good, my clients like me so they really need me.
I'm tired tonight. At least I don't have a client tomorrow morning or Saturday morning.  I can actually wear regular clothes tomorrow.

Josie

We lost out old girl Josie yesterday.  She was about 40 years old. She suffered a stroke so we had to put her down. She was unaware of her surroundings and didn't even respond to us. She couldn't raise her head. She was completely unaware of her surroundings.  The weanlings were watching over her and Luke is a little lost without her. He was very close to her. I miss her and so do the babies. Wes said the pasture horses gathered for the funeral procession until Ty chased them off. He guarded her to her resting spot. He's such a good LGD. RIP Josie. You'll always be in our hearts 💕  forever.
