This Dog

He is such a beautiful boy. So smart.

We have accomplished sit, shake, and down. He is asking to go outside now and when he wants to come in he asks to do that too by scratching on the door. When he wants out he goes to the door and does circles. He has improved so much. He comes in to take a nap, it's where his safe spot is.

He spends a lot of time in his pool. He LOVES the water. He loves to blow bubbles in the water. Definitely keeps us entertained.

Whisper

She has grown so much and is really coming into herself. She never hit that awkward stage. She's always been built nice and is beautiful.

Below is late summer/early fall

Below is just a few days ago out in the pasture. I just love how she is growing up.

This is half our road under water

Crop field and part of our pasture

Again we do not have lake front property. Pictures don't do it justice. It's worse than it looks. A third of our pasture is under water.

Today's Rant

Horses...gotta love 'em.....but sometimes I wonder.

So we divided the big pasture today in an effort to let the 3 babies and 3 adults out to graze on half made just for them. The other half is for the horses that were already out there.

Sooooo......opened the gate to the small pasture so they could go out. Everyone went batshit crazy running, Rebel took out part of the electric fence we just spent 3 1/2 hours putting up. Got the small pasture horses back in the small pasture and decided to give it up for the day. Omg I'm in pain like no other.

I hope the fence is hot, we changed out chargers and I PRAY that the pasture horses remember after dark that the fence is there. I would greatly appreciate waking up to peace and quiet with no mishaps during the night.

I think I'm going to have to put River in the dry lot for a little while and turn the mares and babies out and see how that goes. Not sure yet what the right combination is going to be. Hopefully by weeks end we will have it all figured out. I'm going to be out of hay so they need to go out to pasture. Might pick up a roll of the white fence tape to remind everyone there is a fence there. Have to check cost!

I'd greatly appreciate this pain coming to a halt!

That is all.....except to say we don't have days like this usually and I do love my horses. I just wish they'd be a little safer for themselves.

Big Babies

Can't believe that Dakota is 6 months old and has gotten bigger than Ezra.

Wish it wasn't raining and muddy today. They'd like to go play. The other 3 big dogs are downstairs.  It's middle of May and we have s fire going in the woodstove.  Ugh. This weather is depressing!

Princess Pera

My name is Pera, better known as Princess Pera, Diva Pera.....etc.

Well I  wanted to go out to the big pasture with a handsome gelding named Pistol. Well mom and dad hate to put me out to the big pasture but mom finally gave in because,  well, thats what she does, gives us our way. So I got put out with that hunk Pistol. I was out for a few days, it was sunny and warm and grass everywhere. I enjoyed myself.

Monday night came and so did the acid rain from the sky and I,  bring the princess that I am, decided I was done with the big pasture and done with that hunk Pistol.

The reason mom doesn't put me out to pasture is because when I'm done and want to go back to the barn pasture, I simply just jump the fence. I must not be very graceful because I usually take the strand of hot wire down in the process. Somehow I manage to not hurt myself but last night or this morning I took out almost the whole fence line of hotwire. It was only 1 strand across the top and I thought it would be better on the ground.

Mom came out this morning to feed and there I was with my ole buddies River and Willow. Mom just kinda stood there thinking there were two horses in here, not three. Mom finally realized it was me. Mom had to get to work so she made sure I was ok, fed us all and left for work. When she got home she checked out my redecorating.  Yup I took out 3/4 of that line of electric so then mom started to fix it. I went over to see if I could help, mom said I'd helped enough. Mom always says go big or go home, well I went big. So mom fixed the fence, she pulled to straighten a tpost and it snapped and mom fell on her butt in the mud.

Well this is the reason mom doesn't put me in the other pasture. I didn't get in trouble, mom and dad love me so they just spoile me and put up with Princess Pera....me.

I'm ok and am happy back in my pasture. I was being kind of a hoochy with Pistol but do you blame me? I mean look at him, he is a hunk.

The look on moms face this morning was priceless.  I just looked at her with a good morning look and waited for my breakfast.  I'm glad to be back in with River and Willow. I doubt mom will let me go back out to the pasture again.  Hehehe.

I'm awfully athletic for my age.
