FInally Friday

Its finally Friday and I am so glad. I am very tired.

Its been a bit cooler the last couple days so the horses haven't had to have their daily soaking. I was going out and soaking them down every day (the water bill shows it to). Even the horses that have in the past had NOTHING to do with the water are coming to stand there for a nice cold shower. Royal is also becoming accustomed to the wet refreshment. She is still shedding out weird. She is doing great though.

We relaxed on the patio last night because it was really nice outside and we had Jennifer and Jamie over for dinner. Dinner was served on the patio which I love doing. The boys got a big trough feeder from their Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Jamie. (thanks guys)
At first the thought it was going to eat them, then they discovered that HECK YAH THERE IS FEED IN THERE. So it was no longer to scary although Pistol decided he was going to be positioned to run just in case it decided to take a bite out of him. WOW such big bad stallions. (wusses)
I wouldn't trade them for the world though. They are just to sweet and the fact that they can live together in harmony is a bonus. I like the fact that they have grown up together and they do not fight at all. Not even when mares are around. They are good boys.

Work is going well. I really do like my job and I am being put on the State register for a permanent position. I like working for the Dept of Social Services. It was a little overwhelming in the beginning with having 2 computers, two screens, a scanner and well needless to say my desk extends beyond my actual desk and I use a cabinet to catch the overflow. LOL. Its all good  now though.

I will be glad when the 90 degree days are gone. I can take 80's but I am tired of the heat. I want to go ride and I refuse to do it when they are already stressed and sweaty because of the heat. They have all been soaking wet BEFORE I soak them down with the hose.

Well nothing much else going on. Gotta do the feed pick up thing tomorrow as usual from MFA and then I don't know what. Maybe play with the horses when I get back in the morning. Peaches is going to have a couple more rides put on her per Jennifer. She wants Jamie to just add a bit to her before I ride her. Its killing me. I do so love that mare. She is pretty attached to me to I think.
Maybe I will ride Pasha. Cat is calming down and becoming one of the others too. (until I get the halter out LOL)

More later and I will get updated pics this weekend.

Catch up time

It's been really busy. I've tried to update 3 times now. Maybe I  will get it done this time.
I took the tractor out with the brush hog today and did some of the pasture.
I cleaned out water tanks and filled with ice cold clean clear water. I soaked everyone down today, picked up feed, got my hair cut, and the list actually goes on.
Below are some pics I took today and some I took a few days ago.

Enjoy!

The girls had a ball in the pool today. Yes I said pool. Complete with pool chemicals and chlorine.

Tiny baby raccoon climbed up our tree right in front of us when we were sitting outside. I'm guessing it left when it got dark.
Josie looking good to be so aged. She enjoys life as a retired part of our family. Her only role is to hang with new ones until they are settled in. Josie is a great companion to all.
Pasha and Cat. The darker is Pasha.
Pasha...such a pretty girl
Cat and McKenna. McKenna was a year old last month. She is going to be huge.
Pistol and Bo. They are our junior stallions. They are Soooo sweet and in your pocket. Love these two. They let themselves out yesterday morning. All it took was calling them and they came and went back to their pen for breakfast. They are smart. The fence is now brand new and they won't be going anywhere.
My sweet wonderful Peaches. Talk about sweet! She is so easy and a very good 4 year old.
Hi Kai. You're my sweet sweet boy.
Kai and Affair. Affair is another in your pocket sweet sweet horse. I'm very blessed to have very special horses.
Sadie on the trail of........something.
more pics of the crew.
Ok so apparently this its going to be a weird shedding. It's really strange but it's blue roan in patches.
Growing like crazy and let both back feet fly at Kai because he was pestering her. Kai is very attached to Royal.
Rebel, Bella, Lacy and Diamond.
My Trick. He is my faithful trusted rider and has been for years.
Royal
Belle and Royal
Hard to take a pic Bo if you keep following me.
Oh girls.....yum.
Found this in the yard by our round bales. It was so fresh that it was still wet from shedding. It is 5 feet long.
Really??whose bed is this?
Clearly not mine according to them.

Name Picked

We finally decided on a barn name for the blue roan filly last night. I told Wes that she was over a month old now and it was high time that she had a name. He came up with Royal. So it is official, her barn name is Royal. (Royal Blue). I will have to put new pics up later as I can't do it from my desktop at the moment and my data is running low on my phone. Royal is doing great. She has filled out nicely and is enjoying her time in the pasture with Belle. She is growing like a weed and is so cute. She is kinda lazy I have noticed. She doesn't buck a whole lot, she runs some but mostly takes naps, snacks on mom and just follows the herd around. Trick is a very protective boy and now Kai has taken to watching over Royal as well. I did pull Belle and Royal in last weekend and the entire herd had a fit that Royal was not in there. They paced the fence. It wasn't because of Belle because I have pulled her up before the baby and they didn't care. They have all taken to Royal and all watch over her.

I did get new pics of Peaches (whom I just love), she is so sweet and so easily handled. I got new pics of the boys as well, who are always up my butt so I have to get pics at feeding time.

All the horses are doing great. The youngsters, of which I have many, are growing by leaps and bounds. The boys are already hitting 14 hands at a year old. My filly that just turned a year old in June is already over 14 hands I am sure of it.

Amanda made it back to her home in Arizona safely. She has done so well for herself out there and I am so proud of her. It was really nice to visit with her. I miss her so much. Had fun with Anje as well.

The new dog is doing great even though she is an 8 month old BRAT! She is a small dog but boy is she a handful.

The rabbits had babies. I have 3 very cute black and white babies and they are eating and drinking on their own now. Two of the three are very docile and sweet. The 3rd one is a screamer. Its a little bat shit crazy. Have to work with it more.

Well better get busy doing something else now. More later.

New baby

Well in all the excitement in the last week or two I forgot all about posting that Rain had her foal. Nice looking for sure. Will be for sale after weaned, which won't be for a while. Sis had a foal this year as well. Flashy flashy. I don't think her foal will be selling anytime soon.  Both are extremely good looking.
Should anyone be interested you can contact me or Melissa Parkison.

First lesson

Little blue girl had a lead rope lesson yesterday.  She sweated, I sweated, she put herself on the ground a few times then must have realized that wasn't worth it. Thinking about calling her Willow. Haven't decided. Trying to come up with something unusual. I've got her registered name picked out. I have to just check for a belly spot I thought I saw. She is roaning out a lot. I have to get new close up pics. She is enjoying time out in the pasture.

Best few days

Well Amanda and Clint arrived last Sunday evening.  They came out to the house to see is and pick up Anjeleena.  She was very excited to see her mom.
Here are some pictures we took during the visit.
Anje and Amanda while we waited for her new tires to be put on her car.

Thought I'd never get a picture of Clint. But when I did it was a good one.
Anje and Bailey aka Beeya as we were trying to get out of a storm that produced a tornado in Liberty, where we were. We did take cover in a car wash.
Cassie in my lap. My grand-dogs are great
Blast from the past.....Amanda showing her horse Pico in Flagstaff Arizona where we lived. She was picking up her ribbon.
Amanda and Clint. We were all at Red Robins having our farewell dinner.
Last night at Red Robin
My beautiful daughter and beautiful grand-daughter.
Amanda took Clint to see Chiefs Stadium.
Happy Birthday Clint.
Amanda and Matthew years ago when I had gotten a sports car. We were out at a local lake.
Watching car getting tires put on
Took Mia with us on 4th of July to family gathering. She was a good girl.
Anjeleena and me
I love harassing Clint. Was so happy to see him. I had staff at Red Robin sing Happy Birthday to him.
Wes, Amanda and I.

At the time of this writing I'm sad to say the kids are on the road headed to Arkansas to see Clint's mom Pam. A long time friend of mine.  The kids actually played together when they were young. I'm just sad that they are already gone. Had to fight back the tears last night. It was hard to let go yet again. But Amanda's life is so much better out in Arizona.  They are homeowners now and they are doing wonderfully.  I'm Soooo proud.

Baby bunnies

Baby bunnies growing so fast. Today a nest of wild bunnies was disturbed and I could only find one and get it from the dog., unhurt. So I put it in the nest of my baby bunnies. It's working out so far. A couple of the pics have the wild baby in it but it's hard to see.
