Lakota is my next one due to have a foal. We are expecting sometime in June. Love this mare. Grulla and 2 blue eyes and very sweet. She is staying away from the herd now so I've brought her up to the small pasture. Can't wait to see our foal.

Downsizing
It's with heavy heart that I have to downsize my herd. I can't keep up with everything, not as young as I use to be. I'm tired. I'm working full time and trying to run breeding on a large scale with 3 stallions it's just to much. I have talked this over with Wes. We discussed who stays and who goes and it's really a decent plan. I'll be down but not by a lot. Eventually I want to reach a point where we only have about 6 horses.
No my blue roan is not for sale and neither is her mother. Breeding will not cease completely but we are slowing down.
Thanks for your understanding.

My loving mare
As long as I have had this mare I still never tire of looking at her. They need to hurry up with fixing my back so I can get her training going. I want to ride her.
Fishing day
Jeez it's nice to only work 3 or 4 days a week and get paid for 40 hours.
Today was take the boat to a lake day. No we didn't catch a damn thing but hey your worst day fishing is better than your best day working.
We loaded up after a couple hours because a storm was moving in. We'll needless to say the storm never came. It broke up before it got to us. Yay!!!
My shingles is about gone so I'm no longer contagious. Someone e who hasn't had chicken pox can actually get them while I have shingles. Weird I know. And anyone who has had chicken pox can get shingles. It sits dormant in your nerves. My nerves are what triggered it. So I need to learn to channel things differently.
Ok enough of that.
Baby is growing so fast. We love to play.

Better
I have to say shingles is the most painful thing ever. It's going away now even though it can still have some pain and I do.
My back issue they are still trying to figure out.
I'm at least able to get around and do things. I'm still on all kinds of meds, trying to wean off of them which I guess is to early to do because the pain is getting bad again so back on them I go.
The new baby is a hoot and I love going to play with her. We put the core of a round bale out for her and her mom and I'd go over it and baby would clumsily follow. About the 3rd time she jumped it gracefully. I'd go over it more and she would all of a sudden sprint around it and meet me on the other side. She is nothing like ant foal I've ever had. I will be breeding the mare back in hopes for another like her and I will keep it. This one is already sold.
Well I intended to catch up more but meds kicking in. More later.
New pics of baby soon and mom. I love that mare.
