Beau aka Majestic Spirit

This is Beau.

Not to be confused with Bo. 

Lol yes 2 boys with same name spelled differently.

His registered name is Majestic Spirit. 

He is a rescue and he is a former race horse that was thrown away. He was picked up from a kill lot in Oklahoma the end of last year and I'm the 3rd person he has come to in that amount of time. 

Yes he does need groceries and is getting them along with an appointment to get teeth done. He was a lot worse from what I was told. 

He is the sweetest most people loving horse I've ever met. I got him for Wes. He loves Wes. It is extremely obvious.  He isn't ready to hit the trails just yet. I was told he is 16.3. He is most definitely in the 16 hand range. Gonna need step ladder for this one. Lol

He also HATES to be alone. Wants to be around human or horse, just as long as he has company.  

Wes' New Ride

This is Wes' new ride. We went and looked at him today after taking momma and baby over to Taylor's.  It's the first time I've ever taken a trailer with me to look at a horse.
His name is Beau. He is an OTTB. He was in horrible shape when she got him, he is in better shape now but needs more. He attached to Wes immediately.  Pictures don't do his color justice.  He is 11 years old. Has been off the track for 5 or 6 years. Back legs still healing after god knows what happened.  He came from a kill lot in Oklahoma.  He gets another chance and as most of you know what comes here usually stays here.
I will start working more with Kai and then Wes and I will have matching horses.
I'm glad we got Beau beau.

Good Evening

Hi everyone. It's hotter than hell but we shall survive.  I've made some decisions.  Losing Lakota and Miracle was just to much. It just hurts to bad. Sooooooo..........

I've decided to stop breeding my mares. I may have one more and that's all. I'm tired, I don't want to deal with it anymore. Wes wants to stud out out stallions, I dont. I would like to geld and ride. 

Here is my beautiful Peaches. She is so sweet and I love this mare.while I do have some of the horses for sale she is not one of them. 

Heaven gained 2 angels

Lakota now has her daughter with her. I hope they are running together and happy.
Lakota ruptured with the birth of the foal.
Miracle started having seizures and eventually got worse and were causing brain damage. I made the decision to stop everything,  sedate her heavily and then euthanize her. MU wanted to continue.  I said no. It now was an issue of quality of life.  After the last seizure she had it was painfully obvious that there was no longer a quality of life there for her.
Fly high sweet girls.
You will be missed forever. 

Lakota's Lives On

From something bad comes a precious gift of something good. 

We lost Lakota 24 hours after she gave birth. The filly was so big she ruptured.  The filly was born last Sunday and we lost Lakota on Monday. The vet tried but there was nothing that could be done. It was a very bad day for me. I spent the day crying at the drop of a hat. 

RIP Lakota. 

She rests here and will continue to be loved and missed. 

This is Miracle.  She has Maladjusted foal syndrome aka dummy foal. We did a treatment on her and it helped some. Took us almost all day to teach her to nurse but she got it. In the meantime I milked Lakota and gave it to Miracle via bottle.

Monday after Lakota crossed the rainbow bridge, a very good friend of mine came and got Miracle. I got to bottle feed her all day before she left. 

This is her in Taylor's van. 

She like the ac and laid down and took a long nap. 

Taymor got home and the baby continued to nap so Taylor let her. This is when she woke up.

Miracle has a HUGE fan club.

Miracle is now in Columbia at a specialist.  She is having seizures which are common with dummy foals. They are having issues getting them under control. She was taken to MU today for an MRI. This is to make sure seizures are not causing brain damage. She has gained 3 pounds. She has also never ridden in a horse trailer. She is transported by van or pickup. Very spoiled. 

For now she stays in Columbia. 

And Lakota lives on.......so far.

Iowa

Well jeez it can slow down a little. Today we went to Iowa and back. All in 12 hours. We hauled some stuff up to Kalona and I'm whipped. I may sleep all next weekend.
Tuesday it's back to work.
Played with the baby this evening, checked Lakota and it looks like she is super close.
Spent lots of time with all the horses this evening. It's the best therapy ever.
