Wes' Birthday

Ok so I started Wes' Birthday celebration a week before his birthday by taking him to see Bob Seger in concert at Sprint center. Well this last Friday night I took him out to eat at Ameristar for all you can eat crab legs and a lot of other food. We walked out stuffed. Went to the casino as we usually do. Played with about $5 between the two of us. Not because we had to but just because we were goofing off and we ended up walking out $40 to the good. So our $60 dinner only ended up costing me $25 and we had a blast. Wes said they finally put us up in lights. See pic. Cowboy and cowgirl. Lol.

More catching up

There just isn't enough time to do everything and keep up with my blog.
Cat had to spend a few days in her stall. She hurt her leg or rather one of the other horses caused her to get hurt. She tried to escape from the unknown offender through a panel/gate and apparently got caught up in it. She was all swollen up. Stall rest and Bute did the trick. She was bucking and playing today.
Went roller skating today. Found muscles I forgot I had.
Went to the winery and got a fabulous port wine. Omg is it good.
Fed horses and am now laying down in pain from skating. What was I thinking??
Consult with surgeon week after next, then surgery. Ugh. Will be on medical leave for a little bit then I'm sure on restricted things like lifting heavy crap. That is not going to be easy. No lifting hay, feed or totes at work. I'm sure no riding for several weeks. But it's a have to surgery so I guess I'll deal with it.
Omg i am tired. Time for some candy.

Way to much on my mind

Thursday

I have forgotten to make Wes tea for the last 2 mornings. I can't sleep well because I can't get my mind to stop.
Yesterday was horrible. I woke up to a message from my daughter that my grand daughter had been missing all night. I immediately felt sick. Thank GOD the police brought her home safe at 6 am. Her punishment now starts. The police also took 6 other children home whose parents had also called about the kids missing.

Ok update

Well Friday I got some not so good news. My closest friends know what I'm talking about. I am being scheduled for surgery and will be going on medical leave for a bit. Awaiting insurance info to get consult with surgeon then schedule surgery. My doctor wants to waste no time.
A little scared. They want me to go to KU because my doctor knows a very good surgeon there. So that is where I will go. Until then I can not ride or do anything that might result in more trama that caused this to begin with. 
speaking of trama, Cat has a very swollen knee. I have no clue what she did but I have put her up for now in her turnout with the boys. I will start her on Bute tomorrow. My poor baby. I love that mare.

News

Cat watches over Pasha as she naps. 

Cat finally goes and lays with the boys and Josie. Cat also watches over the boys as they sleep, not letting the other horses get near them. She will be a good mom when she has a foal of her own.

Might have to take a break for a bit on blogging. I'm having some tests run tomorrow as the doctor is very concerned about something. Depending on the outcome I will decide what to share and what not to. 

I have gotten great joy out of watching the horses lately. I am very thankful for all of them. Yesterday wasn't a good day because of a migraine that I still have a touch of even after the doctor gave me a shot. 

On the upside, I have gotten my transfer to another department at work. It will work out so much better. My leads in shipping don't want me to transfer but it is what is best for me and my family. It pays the same with the exception of having a lot less overtime. 

Well its nice and muddy out today but we needed the rain. I went out to feed this morning and I don't know who is responsible for the bs but I got knocked down in the mud because one horse didn't want another horse where it was and I wasn't paying attention, which is not good since I was in the middle of 13 horses that wanted their food NOW! !

They knew momma was mad when I got up. Lol. 

Pasha and Cat Mt 2 newest ones have settled in with the herd. Trick doesn't even mind. Cat and Pasha have worked out their differences and are buddies now. Cat is something else. It's very interesting to see her communicate with the others. She will paw with in foot and nods her head and you can just tell what she is saying to the other horses. It's pretty amazing. This morning there was a lot of hollering by what sounded like Pistol. It was pitch dark out but I went to check. Apparently Pistol got separated from Cat and was in a panic. He found her and all was good. They stick very closely together. I have even seen Cat go find one of the boys if they were not close to her. I hope this weekend will be nice so I can ride Pasha. She has made some remarkable improvements as well. She has found her place in their pecking order and fits in well now. We no longer have some of them aggressive behavior at feeding time. If we do then she has to wear her halter and lead rope while she eats. That seems to solve their issue. I don't have to hold them lead either. She just stays ground tied. Little does she know she isn't tied to anything at all. Lol. It is very hard to tell Cat and Pasha apart. They are just about identical. 

Well just about time to go so guess I better get moving. I will be very glad to see Saturday!!

Lots of catching up

Omg its been a very long week. I put in 51 hours all but 6 of them were night hours. It sucks.
Today was beautiful so I  took advantage of it. I spent time with the horses, we put the roundpen back together, let Cat, Pistol and Bo out to play. I'm leaving them out for now. Trick didnt pull any of his crap either.
Cat has Pistol following like a puppy. He does exactly what she does. Bo got confused and was by Pasha who looks just like Cat and when Cat figured out he wasn't with her she went and got him. It was funny. Everyone is getting along great. Pasha is now getting grained twice a day. I have all 3 horses trained to go into the round pen to be fed. It works out great.

Soooo, baby soon??

Cat sure has come a long way since Jennifer got her and then I got her. She was better when I  got her but still had a long way to go. The top pic is of yesterday. Doesnt resemble the same hotse at all. 

I found Cats last racing plate in the pasture. This was her last track shoe that she will ever wear. 

Cat has done a lot of changing. She knows a lot more about how to be a horse now. She runs and bucks and plays. It's a joy to see such a change in her. 

Bo isnt far from Cat. They have become buddies although not as close as Pistol is with Cat. 

Im so glad its spring. The grass is coming up and there is a beautiful green tint across the landscape. The horses are spending more time out in the pasture instead of hanging around the barn. 

Pasha Progress

Pasha has completely settled down now. Easy to catch, accepts grooming, loves it when i take her out everyday for her grain.
She is totally part of the herd now, it just took some time. I cant wait to go ride her. That is if i get a day off.
I gave her some wormer the other day and she took it like a champ. She is really very easy going. She is fitting in nicely.

Beautiful day

It was the perfect day. Started doing stuff outside this morning but then Wes was really hurting so off to the chiropractor we went. Then off to get some natural muscle relaxer (beer) and some charcoal to cook out. Our first cookout of the season. We salvaged the day. We sat outside on the patio and just soaked up some sun. We had the stereo on and boy it was nice.
I drained the fluid filled whatever on Pistols chest. No infection. He was the perfect bouy. Will have to drain it again. Took some great pictures, got a visit from Wes' brother Alan. I threw Tricks bridle on him and jumped on bareback. Felt good to ride. Did a lot of grooming on horses as well today. It's was so nice to just have some horse therapy.
The new mare Pasha will get dewormer tomorrow and she will get groomed as well. Who knows I may even ride tomorrow.  I think I will work on some pen separations as well.
Cat is looking fabulous. So proud of how she has come along.
The boys are chunks!!! Bo decided this grooming thing is awesome. Belle loves her grooming so much she won't let me groom anyone else. Pistol loves his grooming to. Cat was playing catch me if you can so I didn't bother with her today.
She is something else. Sure do love these rotten brats. Trick has become so spoiled that he was playing keep away when he saw his bridle. I won. He is such a sweet boy. Brat yes but my brat. I've got the perfect herd now and I am super happy with them all.

What a day

It was a great day. The sun was shining and it was warm. Went for a job interview  and I got it. Then Wes took me to the Verizon store. It was time for my upgrade. I got a galaxy note 4 and I love it.
I came home and played with the camera and took pictures of dirty horses.
And I will upload some as soon as I figure out how. Lol.

Cinder is getting huge. There is no possible way that this is hay belly and she is a bit cranky now as well.

Yay March

Ok so it's March and there is snow on the ground. Not a lot though. It's been a pretty mild winter for us. We haven't had the several inches or a foot of snow, thank goodness. Not a lot of wet weather. All but two horses have gone without their blankets and done fine. This time last year kai still had his blanket on but was in much better health. This winter he has been able to be without his blanket and has a good healthy winter coat. It's cold but hey spring is right around the corner!!!
