River

I'm still so taken by this boy. I know this will sound weird and I don't really give a crap what anyone thinks but I can certainly read him easily. He talks to me without a word. He has gotten super close to me in the short time I've had him.
(Continued below)
Before you write me off as crazy, if you listen and do so with your eyes as well as your ears you will find they do talk to you. I cant begin to explain how, they just do. River is a bit different,  he is easier for me to read, especially the longer I have him, which by the way no matter what I will always have him.
He is a very special horse and very honestly he could be my heart horse. I am that attached to him. There is a bond there and it grows stronger every day. I talk to him and believe it or not he listens.
Pistol my bay gelding cornered River today and put him over a fence, yes I was pissed. I ran out and immediately put Pistol back in his pen and went to check all over River.
A bit of missing hair but he was more shook up than anything.  He wanted to stay in the pen with Josie and the mini's. I let him out and he stood at the gate. Okay so I thought I'll groom him, calm him down, and he'll realize Pistol is put up. Nope, he looked at me with a look that could only be pleading so just to see if I read him right I rattled the gate chain and he was all about stepping around me in hope's it would open, which it did and I put him in for a while.
He did enjoy ever inch of his grooming which will be repeated tomorrow.
My veterinarian asked how long I'd had him I told her only a few months. She said well yall are still getting to know each other, which is true. I make a point to scratch, pet and talk to River every time I'm out there. He was the one I was meant to have. He has stolen my heart completely.  I dont know that he knows it or not but I absolutely love him. He is my heart and soul.
With all that being said, I love my other horses and while I'm ticked off at Pistol he is only acting like an ass because of hormones.  So for now he can only be out when I'm out supervising.  In the meantime we will work on things in the roundpen.
As for my River, I think I'll see how he feels about me being bareback on him.
