Zahra
This is Zahra which is Arabic for desert flower. She is a registered Araabian. More whoa than go which is fine by me. It will be fun to ride an Arabian again. Still have Josie and she's almost 40 yrs old. I thought about changing her name but I like Zahra. She is 12 yrs old. Perfect age and not much older than Josie was when I got her.

Finally Friday
Well it's finally Friday and I'm trying to make it through being sick at work. Skye is being a snotty bitch as usual and now has another on board. I just wish they'd go elsewhere. Skye thinks she runs the place, they are both pissed off that hours were cut. I've had enough. It's a slow day. I wish hubby and I would get better. Forgot to take my meds this morning. Ugh.
Not even 11 a.m. yet. I'd give about anything to be in bed. Not sleeping well because of being sick, up and down. The dogs know we are sick and mine is staying extra close to me. It's not to bad outside this morning. Kinda nice because sun is shining and it's a nice fall morning.
My work sister checked on me this morning to see how I was. Used my inhaler and took other meds so don't feel as bad as I did. I'd feel better if certain one would quit. Funny how she can do what she wants to do but if she doesn't want to do a particular thing it's because she's knocked up. This is the most delicate pregnancy I've ever witnessed. It's all fake though. Oh well.

No Replacement
I decided that I'm going to focus on the horses I have now that we have started training instead of replacing Beckham. I'm getting to old to keep training babies. If I were to get a full sibling to Beckham I'd be 64 before training the foal. I'm done getting new ones. I have two 4 yr olds in training and a 6 year old to ride that needs to be ridden more. I have my favorites and I have cut back a bit. Pistol went to family, still here for now but not mine anymore, some of the mini's have also gone to family. Time to slow down. Work takes up about 50 hours a week now so I'm no longer working part time, but I love my job.
Updates
Gizmo snuggled in his pajamas and on his favorite blanket.
Giz at work with me as usual and no more cast
Gizmo's friend, Gadget.
Newt in his continued training learning how to be pony'd.
Newt was determined to sit down instead of being pony'd
When the sitting down didn't work he tried being a frog and leapt forward a few times
Hmmm he discovered being pony'd wasn't bad. He so smart and learns very fast.
He loves praise from his trainer, Jamie Kerwin. I've never seen a horse love simple praise as a reward as much as he does.
Some of the pasture crew
More pasture crew
Ezra cleans Gizmo all the time
Giz loves being on my shoulder
Rio my sweet baby
Ms Faith
I love them all so much
At work after an autopsy
I love being in the medical field
Baby Gizmo is so precious, he goes everywhere with us
Brutus is one of our guard dogs
Ty is our livestock guardian dog
Maggie and Sadie being sisters. They clean each other a lot
Newt when he first started his training
He does so well
I have been on him several times bareback
He's been saddled too
Soon we will be riding consistently.
He is so handsome. I've had him since he was 3 months old, now he is 4 yrs old. He grew up beautifully.
He is far better than his brother whom I sold.

Beckham Final Update
My beautiful boy Beckham couldn't recover from his injury. He was a mere 6 months old, we discovered he had a shattered hip socket which was also creating a plethora of other major problems with would have put him through multiple surgeries on all legs and he would still have been in a lot of pain. His quality of life would have been zero. So with a broken 💔 the best thing for him was to be humanely euthanized. The specialist took care of this foe me as I just couldn't do it. His head was in my lap and I was stroking his head and cheek as he took his last breath. Before sedation he rested his head in my arms with all his head weight and I honestly felt his love, appreciation and a thank you for letting him go. I actually felt it. It was amazing as well as heartbreaking all at the same time. I think he only kept going because he knew I loved him so much. I desperately wanted to save him. We said our goodbyes, I got braided tail hair and some mane hair and let him go. The gift of being an empath often times is not a gift at all.
He was my special boy.
Always in my heart Beckham. Rest easy, run through the sky, and graze in forever green pastures.
Love always your human mom, you were an exceptional Champagne colt.

More on Beckham
Beck has his good days and his bad days. The bad days bother me really bad, more than they bother him I think. I wish I had access to a swim pool for horses because I think it would help him. Might look to see if there is any available in the area but I doubt it. I just can't help think it would help him tremendously. Allow him to move easier and strengthen his legs and help his back.
