Today's Soapbox Lecture
I am sure I could beg for donations too and get them but I don't. My horses are my responsibility and I take on that responsibility. Is it hard????? Damn straight it is but I work my ass off to get it done. If I have to do without something then I do. Its called priorities. Get a clue people. Start pulling your own weight, get a freaking job and support your habit.

To Touch On a Few Subjects Today
Another pet peeve: Sweating horses to reshape them for showing...............really? What is the point of showing a horse if you aren't going to show it in its natural state? I mean really, you can see what the TRUE conformation is on the horse, not the shape and conformation you gave it by sweating it into another shape. I just shake my head. Its become completely ridiculous. You would want to see the horse in its natural state to give some sort of determination of what the foals will be like.
Ok so what else can I pick on......................lol.
I can't come up with anything right at the moment. My mind is going about 10 different directions right now, so lets talk about this day.......
Holy crap is it nice out and boy wouldn't I love to be out with the horses without having both myself and the horses sweating horribly. They were all feeling pretty good this morning. I saw Royal and she is almost all blue on her neck. Her body has gotten very light in preparation to change over to the blue roan. She still looks like a color mess though. LOL.
I sold the dog run. YAY! I didn't think it was going to go..........I had 3 or 4 people in line for it but they feel off one by one so I was going to use it for the guinea's when they got bigger if it didn't sell. Well a really nice young couple came and got it last night. They have a boarding facility about 20 minutes away and she was just about to order a brand new one online (over $400) but then found mine. The were thrilled to get it. We thought it was 6 foot wide, they brought a 6 ft wide trailer and it turns out it was like 7 foot wide. AGH! That is ok, where there is a will there is a way and we got it on there and tied down and off they went.
Last Saturday I went to pick up feed and it was chick days. Well I wanted guineas but didn't expect them to have any. I get there and guess what??? GUINEA KEETS!!!!! YAY!!!! I bought 6 and they are doing great!!!! I love the little boogers. I am just fascinated by them.
Well gotta run. Got things to do. I HAVE to get more pictures to put up on here. I will get some soon. Trying to wait till Royal changes but she has a lot of blue on her right now so maybe I can get some updated pictures of her color mess.

Training
So for several days now I have been working Peaches. I didn't yesterday because of the heat and the fact that when I worked her friday I got very sick from the heat.
She was a bit off today, looking for a way out of the round pen. That is not like my Peach at all. She didn't want me catching her either. So not like Peaches. We did work through it today but kept it short. If she is having an off day there is no point in pushing it. I did get on her today so that is a plus. We just chilled and talked. It's a start. She actually has a ride on her which was walk, trot, canter but not by me. We will get back to that hopefully this week. I need to make some revisions on a bridle setup for her. I need to find a smaller headstall. I didn't get as far today as I had wanted but at least we worked.

Training Time
I had left the round pen to go get some fly spray to wipe her down with so she could concentrate on lessons and when I came back Wes was working her in the round pen. He did great. Its so nice to have someone that takes part in the same things you like. He is really very good with the horses too. That is taking some getting use to on my part because I am use to having someone around that doesn't care to get involved at all. Its different now. I think he likes them almost as much as I do.
Peaches catches on quickly and is very easy going. And unlike a lot of horses when we are done she doesn't run off, she hangs with me and I have to make her go on. So after workout and cooling time she got her dinner. (She is fat and needs a diet or to be turned out to pasture)
We are working on softening her. She is a little stiff in her neck. She disengages her hindquarter really well and we are working on backing and setting her head. We saddled her last night and she was ok with that. Never a buck or anything out of her. She moves beautifully, almost as if she is floating. Its really pretty when she sets her head where it needs to be. I really do love the crap out of this mare. She will be ready next year for whatever I want to do with her. I think I will ride her next year and breed her the year after. Depends on what we decide to do. She is paint (has a big belly spot) with lots of chrome on her legs. She is such a light sorrel that its really pretty. She is a really good girl.
I am almost back to my old self, still stressed a bit, just to much on my mind at this point in time. Need to make more money, need to pay some stuff off. Wes' colt is just about paid off. I have very little left to pay on horses in general. It all started out at about $2900 and am now down to about $1000. YAY! Its been a long road but I have done it on my own working my ass off and that makes me proud. I work to make my own money to buy the horses I want. That is a good feeling. I don't have to get money from Wes. Its a pretty great feeling of independence instead of sitting on ones fat ass at home spending the husbands money when there isn't even money to pay bills and has to solicit for donations instead of getting a friggin job and supporting their own habit.
Well the weekend is here (thank goodness) and I am ready. Only a few more hours to go.
Guess it will be house cleaning time tomorrow for half the day. Depends on the weather. If its to hot to work horses I will do housework. So which ever day that will be is when it will get done. There are just not enough hours in the day and I just don't have enough energy either.
Picking up my feed mix on Saturday and have to get some fly spray for the horses as well. The stuff I am using is not lasting long enough.
Better run for now. Pictures of Peaches and our work later.

Dumbassery overload
I swear there must have been a truck overturn and spill it's load of complete dumbass pills and hey I'm a psycho pills. The level of complete and udder crazy is over the top today. People wanting to gather a group and head to Arizona to water some horses that they say have none. Jeesh that's a long way to go just to get there and find they have water or it took so long for you to get there they died. REALLY!!!
Let's put out thinking hats on and maybe pick up a phone and get confirmation.

Random Rantings
Formulating things in my brain on the boys area and the arena. Still in the planning process but will take it to the next step soon. Well as soon as we have time. We have everything to do it, just not the time right now. Still figuring out how to join the small arena to the boys area as well as having another gate to enter it from where the other horses are so that if I want to work the boys we can go straight into the arena or if I want to work someone else I can close it off from the boys and take someone else in from the other side (pasture side). It will work. I need my 2nd brain (Wes) to work out the bugs in the plan because as we all know my plans are way better in my head than they are in actuality. LOL.
Ok so on to the subject of the horses........shocker.....who knew this would end up there........
I am really full up right now and don't really want any more horses but there is this one that I have been watching for months. Her name is Willow and she is a bay and she is at a rescue and she has the sweetest eyes and face I have ever seen. She just looks like she could curl up in your lap. She was abandoned last winter at someone's place. JUST SAD! Pisses me off. Anyway she is apparently still very trusting and very forgiving because you can't tell it by the way she acts. Yes she is grade and no I don't fall for every single one I see but I'd like to adopt this one. There is just something about her. Not sure what it is but she is always on my mind. She isn't emaciated or anything, she looks fantastic, nice build and would be a nice riding horse. (not like I don't have plenty right?) Its not something I plan to do right now though. As I said in a previous post............I have enough. I have so much to do with everyone and right now I am having riding withdrawals. I want so badly to ride Peaches.
Speaking of Ms Peaches........she decided I wasn't putting food in her feeder fast enough yesterday and well she was going to turn her big ass around and get nasty. We put a stop to that real quick and she is fixing to get a huge lesson when she gets turned out to pasture. She doesn't need to be grained. She has gotten FAT. She hangs with Josie (as all the new ones do) and I haven't put her out to pasture because of Trick and the fact that I want her in the round pen to work with.
Royal (our newest addition born to Belle) is growing like a weed. She is doing well out in the pasture and LOVES being a part of the herd. She looks like crap because of her shedding. Well crap may be a strong word.......she looks bizarre. Her attitude seems to be improving. She thinks she is a BIG GIRL. Her half sister looks FABULOUS! Can't wait to see her all blue roan'd out.
Everyone else is spoiled as well and doing great. Not a one of them has to work for a darn thing. But they bring me so much joy and peace. Its nice to sit out and watch the horses in the evenings, visit with them and love on them. They all stand there for me to put fly spray on them to. Couldn't ask for a better herd of horses. I really need to get pictures updated, start pulling them up one by one and setting them up after grooming and take some really good pictures. Life is good on the farm. Heck life is good everywhere.
Jennifer and Jamie got all moved back from Illinois. The state where weird bizarre people reside. I am sure it was like they left the twilight zone. They are sssoooooo glad to be back. We had dinner again last night over at their house. As usual it was a blast. We ate, then went to mess with the horses and feed them. I still have a few favorites of her herd. LOL. I am sure when she reads this she will laugh and I am sure she could name at least one of them.
There is a very slim chance that we could end up with a big gelding that looks almost just like Trick. Now wouldn't that be cool for Wes and I to have matching paints? I doubt it will happen though. I am sure they will want to much for him and well its not someone that will do me any favors as I found out when I needed help moving Savannah. Oh well.
Its going to be a toss up now on who my favorite is to ride. The 2 that are going to be my "go to" horses are Trick (obviously) and Peaches. I just KNOW that she will be GREAT!!
Kai..........well Mr. Kai has just come into his own so well. He is so much bigger than he was, he has filled out and he is fat. I have let him be out and be a horse for the last year, maybe not that long since he required some MAJOR care when I got him. He doesn't look like the same horse anymore though. Still sweet and loves Royal.
Well I better get some things done. If I think of anymore I will post later. Today was just some ramblings, nothing major. We are rather boring these days. Feeling the need for a vacation.
