Trying to get home

Ok soooo, this is my normal route home. Got off at 1 p.m. it had stopped raining so thought I'd just take my normal route. Get close to home, this is the road before my road and this is my first obstacle.  So I can see the gravel somewhat down the middle so me, Gizmo and my SUV go through, after much thought and a couple of texts, one to my boss and one to my husband.  So I get through, thinking ALRIGHT! I'm gonna get home. Then I come around the corner to be faced with the view of what's in the 2nd picture.
I sit and watch, noticing the pickups on the other side are parked. Hmmm, well it's running fast and that is the small river running across that road so if it's to deep, takes my SUV, me, Gizmo then we will be swimming. So I back up, turn around,  go back through the one I'd just come through and headed to another route. Well, only to come almost to the road I was originally on but on the other side of the flooding I had faced to see the river out on that road too. Well crap. By this time hubby has called and said don't try that one either. Turn around and go through Richmond and take 13 then cut over to the house from FF. Okay so away I go.
So a drive that usually takes me 20 to 25 minutes took me an hour. I finally got home a little after 2 because I had to try a 3rd route. Thank goodness our road wasn't flooded yet and if it rains again tonight at least I'm off tomorrow and if flooded in I'm at home. Jeesh!!!!
Thank goodness for home sweet home.
My boss did offer me her house in town to stay in. I just love my boss.
Good thing I filled up my gas tank ($80) (thanks Brandon, you dumb fuck) or I would have run out of gas too. My SUV has a V-6 in it. Can't imagine having to fill my pickup.

Gizmo and Gulliver

Gizmo and Gulliver got neutered Thursday May 26, 2022. By evening time Gizmo was just like he was before surgery. Gulliver isn't recovering as quickly. Gulliver has a hematoma in his scrotum but starting to go down. They are the size of tennis balls. He's bruised but he feels ok. I have him on antibiotics and pain meds. He's stopped seeping blood. It's because he is older and a much bigger dog. I was in on his surgery and it was text book neutering.  Gulliver is 121 lbs compared to Gizmo's 3 pounds. There were several reasons I got them neutered. Gulliver was to reduce his attitude and to keep from getting prostate problems. That's a huge problem in these dogs that aren't neutered. I got Gizmo neutered to keep his good attitude especially with other male dogs around here. I have no intention of having puppies anyway. Neutered dogs make much better dogs anyway. Gizmo's testicles were the size of bb's. Lol. His incision is already healed and is so tiny you can't hardly see it. I will be getting Tessa spayed as well because I don't want her to develop a problem. That would be a death sentence.  Besides I'm sick of the boys acting like idiots when she's in season.
Gizmo is still so small and Doc said he won't get any bigger. I love him so much. He goes everywhere with us. We went to walmart today and I can tell he is starting to get tired of people fussing over how cute he is and really doesn't like strangers touching him. Some people he loves, others, not so much. He knows everyone at work and loves everyone there, especially Dr Watkins.  I'm fortunate I get to take my dogs to work. After Gullivers surgery he hung out in the playroom at work. A client looked in there and said he was met eye to eye by a horse. Lol. It was Gulliver.  I laughed and said yes, that's my dog. It was funny.
Tonight is dinner and a movie out on the patio. Yay!

Rant Time -PISSED

Ok so I take care of a friend of ours who has a girlfriend or rather an absentee girlfriend.  She rarely calls him, he may not hear from her for weeks, might get to see her once a month.....maybe, yet wants to take their relationship to "the next level"......marriage.  ugh. In the 3 years we have taken care of him, his horses, his house, his meds, doctors appointments, handling his disability and social security as well as so much more she has done basically none of it. Who picked him up from the hospital? ME! who went to get his meds and groceries? Me. I pay his bills for him, make sure his oxygen equipment is taken care of. He has 200 acres that I don't give 2 shits about but obviously she does. She does nothing for him, his health is failing yet she wants to get married? She's 65 years old, lives with her mother. I'm thinking that if she really cared for him she'd be trying to do the things I do for him, be around more and just give a damn, which she doesn't.  Actions speak louder than words.
She got all pissed off because I brought his horse, with his permission to my house. He was losing weight, needed to be dewormed and needed feed. He also needed to be ridden. I'm doing all of that with the horse. She is livid. Well guess what......I don't give a flying fuck. I did find out she doesn't like me, which I knew! I also don't care about that either. She needs to get over herself. She's jealous but about what I have no clue. I have a husband that I adore. She knows this so whatever problem she has is her problem.  She best stay off my property. She better stay out of my face. Oh....and the damn horse stays here. She can stick her horse up her ass. This one isn't hers.

Rainy, Sleet, Snowy

Today we've had rain, sleet and snow. Oh did I mention cold? I guess that is a given since I listed sleet and snow.
Little Gizmo is such a wonderful addition to our family. He has a fantastic personality and is very smart. He is definitely a mommy's boy. He has filled the void that the loss of Teaka left within me. I don't think everyone understands that. Gizmo goes to work with me every day. He sleeps on my shoulder and on my lap and in bed with us.
Pandora is now rehabbed and is on her next adventure out in an undisclosed location.  There are other raccoons in the area so I hope she gets to have a family. I've wanted to go check on her but I kinda don't.  I hope she does well. She was very happy when we left, playing in the pond and investigating the trees.
The horses are all doing well.
Here are some pictures to enjoy.
Sleeping sitting up
Snuggling with Tessa
Cats are convinced Gizmo is a large mouse I think.
Gizmo hanging out in the "hoodie"
Gizmo sitting on Ezra and she cleans him constantly.
That may possibly be the look of "really mom?"
Pandora in her natural habitat
Loving the whole "lots of water to play in" concept

Gizmo

Baby Gizmo is such a wonderful puppy. I love 💘 him so much. Yesterday he had a big day. We went to town and did some garage saling and he got a new leash and a few new toys, his size, and he was tired.
I was a little worried about him this morning.  He seemed not as active as usual. I fed him his breakfast and he perked up and had rough and tumble time with my other chi, Tessa. She loves him and so does my Chi Mouse. He is a very happy little guy. He is my heart. It's been a great 3 day weekend.
We went and brought up Bill's horses from pasture and spread 50 lbs of feed out for them and the sweetest donkey. Now I need to pick up Cowboy and the roundpen. Wes dragged and cleaned out Trick and Belles pen yesterday. I put them in the big roundpen while he did it. They were happy to have all the mud gone. Unfortunately it will rain for about 3 days this week. Ugh. Gizmo saw the horses and barked at them. He was peeking out from my sweatshirt.  It was funny. I always wanted a little dog that would be small enough and love to go everywhere with me and I finally got one. Tess and Mouse prefer to stay at home but they are also 10 and 11 years old. I love all my dogs with all my heart but Gizmo is very special and he wants to be with me constantly.  He learns so fast. He is so incredibly smart.

Gizmo and Mouse

Gizmo  snuggled up to Mouse. He's been completely accepted by the whole canine family. Even Dakota likes him and will pet him very gently with his paw. It's the absolute cutest.
We went shopping at Walmart today and daddy bought Gizmo a harness and a toy. Finally something that fits him, and of course Gizmo got lots of attention from shoppers and employees.  There was a shopper that had her Chihuahua in her basket sitting in It's carrier with the door open. It stayed in and just watched while she shopped. I showed her Gizmo who was snuggled in my jacket.
