Here are 2 rescue ponies a friend of mine picked up and tried to find a new home for. They still had winter hair so their body condition was hidden but they were in pretty rough shape. Thank goodness she got them in time. One is 29 years old, the other is 19 years old and they use to pull a little Budweiser wagon as a team. Well no one wanted them so I had to go pick up my gelding anyway so I brought them home to live here. Here are pictures I took this morning after having them on senior feed for a couple weeks. They have improved a lot and are doing well. The 19 year old is getting a lot more friendly, she was super shy and the 29 year old loves attention. They continue to improve and my intention was to find them a good retirement home, however, I have grown very fond of the girls and I think they will just be staying here with us. When they are back at full weight I will probably harness them up and take them on little outings with the pony cart. Maybe a parade on occasion or just a little jaunt down the road. We shall see. They are good girls.
