Todays lesson 3 million 4 67thousand 287: miniature horses while entertaining and so much fun are entirely to smart. Now for the visual, conservation dept pickup pulls into driveway, honks horn because, face it, my 4 big outside dogs are very intimidating so I go out to see what was going on all the while screaming at the dogs to leave the poor woman alone. She was very sweet telling me the horses were out, I gave her the look of and said " is it the mini's
"? She chuckled and said yes. I thanked her very much and said well thank god all I have to do is call them and sure enough I hollered "babies where are you, come on" and down the outside of the fence, looking for the way back in, here the 4 came running because lets face it, moms voi e means feedinf time. Thank goodness they are basically trained to come when I call, go figure. So that was easy enough. It's funny to see 4 little things running their little hooves off in grass taller than them hraded straight for you ffom a field away. It was cute, can't help but giggle and think what cuties. So into the yard they went, the fence/ gate was laid over and tiny twister jumped the entire width of the gate back into their temp enclosure where I had them grazing. Still chuckling while trying to be mad, but its impossible. Then there is the one leader of mischief named BB. Wouldn't trade her for the world but she is leader of the pack decides well I'm not exactly ready yet so one more run to the next field. So I'm corraling the 3 while Wes strolls down the gravel to call BB the Queen of, Well you fill in the blank, and no rope but she decides ok I'll walk home with dad and I meet them with a rope. So now ms trouble maker is caught and now put up. What is so enjoyable about my trouble makers? I have no idea but boy are they entertaining and smart. They all have such different personalities. All the while the dogs are trying to help which btw is no help at all really, but it's the effort that counts I suppose. So now everyone is in the dry lot now, mad of course but safe and sound. The r azad in loosened the tpost by the panel and BB knows exactly how to manipulate the fence to get it down. Brat child. But she's my girl.
Thank goodness they are trained to come when I call. It's really hard to find mini's in grass taller than they are. I love my little turd ponies, I get so much enjoyment out of them, perhaps in my older age a bit more than the big horses. Thry keep me on my toes for sure. But they are so adorable. Who thought they'd be so much fun but I'm apparently hooked on them. Think I need to let them have the smaller pasture. They have so much fun. The 2 rescues, Honey and Alyssa were still in the dry lot to finish their breakfast so only had to contend with my 4 smaller ones. (Thank goodness)
Thanks Tammy for being so gracious to stop and let me know. I don't even panic anymore, I just go call "babies"! I have the greatest ones on earth but I may be partial. Lol. She should have watched. She would have been surprised.
The rescues, Honey and Alyssa are doing great. Gaining weight and loveable. Alyssa is still a little standoffish but is coming around and follows Honey everywhere. So I let her do it in her own good time which is working. I've gotten attached to the both of those old girls. Honey just wants love and Alyssa is just not sure yet but that's ok. I'm glad my gut told me to take them. No one wanted them because of their age but their mistake because they turned down a couple of real sweethearts. They are doing great.
That was my excitement for the day. Tomorrow retink fence area for grazing and playing. Might have a easy solution for them, we'll see how it works out.
