Frisky

Caught them playing when I was watching out my bedroom window. Love my view. I can see all the horses, better than tv.

Happy sad day

It's both happy and sad. All of the puppies got excellent homes after I had to weed out the crackheads. I was actually going to keep one if no one wanted her because she is SOOO sweet and easy going. But then my phone rang. A really nice family wants my favorite pup. They have named her Fancy and she has three human siblings to dote over her and continue spoiling her. So it's a happy sad day.
On the up side it won't be like picking up after small children ALL THE TIME!!
It's back to oh so cold! Sunday is March 1st! COME ON SPRING!!!

Finally Peace in the Pasture

It's finally happened, Pasha is finally in with the herd. The day I turned her out she seemed to force her presence in the herd. Well..... Apparently that approach didn't work out well. There were some differences of opinion as to Pasha's proper place in the family. Well today that is pretty much over. She is now in with them, laying by them but still respecting the fact that they have been here longer.
I took some pictures this morning. Took blankets off of Josie and Cat. Cat's is rubbing a couple places on her. It's going to be a pretty day before it goes to crap tonight.

Accomplished

Feeling fairly accomplished today! It was bitter cold outside so it was an inside day. I was a vegetable yesterday so today I got stuff done. Wes and I tackled different projects. While he mopped the downstairs I cleaned the kitchen and then I mopped upstairs. I got some laundry done, folded and put up, I went through drawers, cleaned them out sacked up clothes to donate , put bar bait out for the little furry thing making nests in my bookcase. Yes I kill the little bastards. They are nasty. They spread disease! So needless to say the mouse population is fixing to drop.

The girls (2 puppies left) have spent the day upstairs with us. They are very smart and very sweet. The one I call Shadow is a bit shy and loves to cuddle. I really like her. They are such social babies.

I checked on Pasha, actually I check her and everyone several times a day, and she is thriving out with the herd. Trick still giving her a little bit of a hard time but she is eating and doing very well. This cold snap isn't bothering her or doesn't seem to be. She is loving the protein tub and has completely changed since being turned out.

Cat is not the same horse she was even a month ago. I can walk up to her and love on her all I want now. I think things are finally starting to click. She is a very good girl. I actually had to push her out of the way which I never had to do before because she always moved away from me or anyone really. Can't wait till spring.

Well stay warm! Off to finish some more laundry and watch a movie. The dogs are in and sleeping already.

Deadwood Updates

We are down one filly. She went to Jennifer's. I'm sure she will have a filly I can get later on. It's all good.

Pasha, the new TB, is out with the herd now. Trick tried his normal crap but she had none of it. She put her hoof down and I mean she rely did along with some squealing and basically told them all how it was. Apparently it worked because within an hour she is hanging with the herd. It's the quickest this has ever happened. Pasha stands her ground and the others just mind their own business. She is much calmer turned out.

What a Day

Today started at 5:30 as usual. Cooked breakfast for Wes, packed his lunch, saw him off to work. By 8:00 I had the trailer hooked up, the filly in it and was headed to Jennifer's. Unloaded Cumos, put her in the barn, jennifer got home and we had to wrangle some horses into another pasture. Cumos came in handy in leading them into the pasture. Then she was turned out.
Back home, drop trailer by 9:30. Off to feed store. Got feed, got 250 lb protein tub, came home and unloaded feed. Got the horses out to pasture and closed the gate so I could bring round bales in for them. Put the chain around the bale hooked it to my truck and pulled it out to the barn pasture. Repeated and took a second one out.
Phase 2:
Started tractor put on carry all raised it to height of my truck bed and slid protein tub on tractor. Took it out to the shelter. They LOVE their protein tub and oh man does it make a big difference.
Met with two sets of people who each adopted puppies. Only two left.
Got laundry started, cleaned up after puppies.
Phase 3:
Feeding time. Started watering horses while taking feed out. Lifted upside down plastic water tank off the block of ice that a few days ago was water. Thawed enough to get the water tank off of it.
Horses all fed, Hayed and watered.
Now waiting to cook dinner, start a fire and take a nice hot shower.
Wes is on 12 hours because of nasty weather coming. Tomorrow is house cleaning.

Cat is fabulous. She is so loveable now. Just crazy about that mare.

Pasha was ticked off when Cumos left but has another friend. She is doing good. Just gonna take some time. She is pissy when you pet her sides. She will get over it. She actually loves her hay more than her grain. Silly girl.

Time to go start dinner, or pass out. We will see what comes first. Lol.

Cat

I am so beyond happy with Cat. She walks in and out of the barn door (regular walk through human door) like its nothing. This is far different than the usual bolt through any door or even the widest gate! Now it's nothing for her to go in and out. She no longer moves off from me and she is so much more like a regular horse. Big changes for the big girl.

Cumos

Cumos is returning home to Jennifer tomorrow, weather permitting.

In other news:
I'm no longer employed at the tire shop. Threats do not sit well with me. Funny thing is and it's really not funny ha ha is that he is exactly like my ex husband. Downs everyone, even his own family. Puts his nose where it doesn't belong in people's business that doesn't concern him at all. Talks bad about everyone, is a complete bully and brags about it. It's very sad. So for now I'm home. This allows me to get some stuff done.

This cold snap is just painful! However, the horses are doing great!!!!!everyone seems very comfortable.

I've made huge strides with Cat. I love that mare. She is really coming around now very fast.

Pasha is doing very well. She is in the barn with this cold snap, wearing her blanket and eating well. When the weather clears I think she can be turned out. Everyone is a wooly mammoth except cat. It's been a good winter.

Ok time to be domestic. Maybe I'll get a nap tomorrow. 😝

Bundle Up

It's gonna be a cold one tonight and tomorrow. Everyone here is snug as a bug!

Just Love

It's so nice to sit and be able to watch out over the horses. I just love to see them content, healthy munching away on their hay or snuggled down in it. Bo is laying in the hay. I just love our stud colts. They are so beautiful. Pistol is now snuggled down in the hay. Just a pasture full of love and beauty.

Graduation

Pasha graduated out of the barn yesterday. New horses are a mandatory one week in the barn for many reasons. I have found this to make transition a lot easier.

Josie and Pasha
She is the zebra horse in the pic. The transition went well. Cat is pretty happy to have a new friend. There was very little establishing of pecking order. I went to out her blanket on yesterday and she was so excited to be out that she was having no part of it so it went on this morning. She was more than willing this morning. I was happy to see that feeding time was very smooth. Everyone goes to their feeder and waits.
We hauled 8 round bales yesterday. We were going to get another load but we were whooped after two loads. We set out 3 bales. Everyone was happy about that. The protein tub is about gone. It has helped with regards to hay intake though. They are smashing through a round bale in 24 hours now. It truly works well.
Cinder still looks preggers and Belle does to.
Today is just bitter cold. Suppose to snow tonight....maybe. Depends on who you watch. Sooo house cleaning on the agenda.
Valentine's was celebrated Friday night when my sweetheart took me out to dinner. We were going to go to the movies but I was to tired.

Everyone is doing great and all is well. Can't wait till spring.

Silly Girl Cumos

Cumos is my red roan filly. Well she chipped her back hoof, toe part and it quicked it. She was sore but nothing serious. Well in the midst of all this she had started staying away from the herd. She isn't even hanging around Cinder and Kai which is odd. So last night I brought her into the barn just for a precaution. Pasha is in the barn so neither of them is alone. I put panels up, two to be exact and made one of them a slider. Having fed, watered and hayed I slid the gate shut. All was good.
This morning I go out to feed and Cumos is not in her stall. At first I thought maybe she was laying down because I didn't see her with the other horses by the barn. Nope looked at the panel and it was slid open. Hummm how did she do that. Smart girl. So I went and got her, she was yet again out by herself. This is worrying me a little bit, the fact that she wants to stay alone. She is fine in all manners. She is eating, drinking and moves when she wants to. Don't really know what her issue is with staying away from the herd. She isn't high on the pecking order but then neither are Kai or Cinder but they still stay close by the herd. Relatively close anyway. Cumos is no where near them. Its very strange. Anyway we will see if she is still in the barn later. I put her back up, fed her, checked her water gave her hay.
She was content when I left to go back into the house. We shall see. Wes is home so he will check on her.

Where did the heat go?

Got blankets put back on Josie and Cat last night. Good thing because this morning is just bitter cold. Ground is frozen which is both good and bad. Good because NO MUD!! Bad because the horses have a hard time walking on it.

I was sssooooo proud of Cat last night, ground not frozen yet she let me catch her, no lead rope, and put her blanket on, again no lead rope. She started to turn and I made a noise at her to say nooo, and she stopped and stood there pretty as you please and let me get it all hooked up, snapped up and in place. What a good girl. I let her know she was a good girl to.

Pasha is still having a fit if she is in the barn alone. This afternoon I am moving Cumos into the barn for a few days. She is no longer limping but she is also staying away from the herd and not coming up to the shelter of the barn. Pasha will be glad to have the company and I think Cumos will benefit from having her in there as well. Boy is Pasha tall. I was standing there last night petting on her and talking to her and WOW she is tall. Gonna need a ladder for sure. No way can I get up on her without assistance. LOL.

Puppies are finding great homes. They are going to awesome families and will have kids to grow up with. One went to someone that Wes works with and he is single and said it was going to be his truck dog. I have been very picky and actually turned someone down. Just said it was not the dog for them, end of story. Don't know if they got pissed and don't really care.

Maggie is getting her girlish figure back. All milk is gone and she is pulling back up and starting to look normal again. YAY. Scheduling her for surgery shortly. No more puppies. I am not even keeping one for myself. I have enough.

Going to pick up round bales this weekend. May have to do them one at a time if we don't find a trailer to use. Its not that far and I want to get big rounds our now. The horses are going to town on the protein tub. Its great. I love having one out there. I think this will be a staple from here on out. Its really good for the horses.

Well more later. Gotta get busy doing some things. Got people coming to see puppies.

Deadwood Ranch Updates

Since my website is no more because they have changed formats I am going to find another avenue to present the horses. I do have a public fb page for the ranch and I also have the blog here. For future reference if posts are directly about Ranch news such as who is standing, who is being bred or who has foaled then the title will be Ranch News. Until I find a website application I like OR get someone to do my website for me professionally this is the way I am going to do this. I sure do miss having a website but I have been left with  no choice since Tripod/lycos has changed formats.

Our Ranch Family

Geldings

Trick is my personal riding gelding. He is APHA registered and will go where I point him. He is a gentleman all the time when mounted. He is a bay overo and was a stallion until November of 2009. Its hard to believe that he has been gelded for that long. I was fortunate to have one filly out of Trick but she either got stepped on the day after she was born or maybe kicked and was passed away the day after. Trick is a compact 14.2 hands and fits me perfectly.

Rebel is my husbands riding gelding. He is AQHA registered and I got him when he was about a year and a half old. I broke him and trained him and he is a sweetheart. He thinks he is a big lap dog. He is solid black and just under 16 hands tall and fits Wes perfectly.

Kai: Kai came to me a mess. He was a rescue and was no more than skin stretched over bones. He is in bad shape. It didn't take long to rehab him though. He is a healthy fat frisky boy now and was started lightly last summer but will be going back to training this summer. I wanted him to have the full year of just getting to be healthy. He is a joy to be around and he is a gray and white overo. He is APHA. Sweet sweet boy and will remain with our family. He will just be used as a trail horse.

Stud Colts:

Remembering Tradition aka Pistol: He has Zips Chocolate Chip on his papers and what a sweetheart he is. He is also very much a Romeo at the tender age of a year old. But boy is he built and such a beautiful color Bay. The boy would climb in your lap if he thought he could. Pistol is APHA registered, minimal white overo. One small spot on his side.

Farside Kid aka Bo: Bo is Mr. Independent. He likes to do things his way but I have to say he has improved sssoooooo much. He is a sweetheart. He isn't so much a Romeo like Pistol but I think he just isn't interested as of yet. He is APHA and AQHA registered, he is overo and his HYPP status is N/H. He is non-symptomatic and is on the same diet as everyone else.  I do not foresee any issues but will continue to be vigilant in watching him and making sure he stays non-symptomatic.

Mares:

Josie: Josie is our Arabian. She is approaching the neighborhood of 29 or 30 years old. I have had her since she was around 8 or 10 years old. I bought her for my daughter and she has been a faithful ride for my daughter and my grand-daughter as well as the many others that have ridden with my children over the years. She is now retired, doing whatever she pleases and gets hot meals twice daily. She gets her blanket when the weather calls for it and is generally pampered. What Josie wants, Josie gets.

Belle: Belle is one of our APHA mares, she is bay in color and is registered breeding stock. She has never thrown a solid foal, always painted. She has primarily been a broodmare however, she has been ridden by our family and is a natural. She doesn't care and trusts that she will not be hurt. I have had Belle for many years. Last year she went to a friend of mines daughter for her to build her confidence. Belle came back to us fall of 2014. She is possibly in foal and will update on her when the time comes. Belle will be bred back to a really nice Champagne stallion that a friend of mine owns. I think I will have a beautiful foal out of those two.

Cumos: She is my red roan filly. She is a 2 year old and very pretty and very big. She is sweet as they come and I really do like her. She is very quiet and laid back. I will be working with her on groundwork this spring and start her lightly under saddle. She will eventually be bred as well but not until she is about 5 years old.

Lace: APHA Registered gray and white loud overo. She looks mostly white because each year she gets lighter and lighter. You can see her markings when she is wet and right after she sheds off. Winter time they are hardly noticeable. She has had one foal for me which I still own. Lace was born sorrel and lightened to what she is now. Her sire was a gray so I expected this. I do love my gray horses. Lace is also my gelding Trick's half sister.

Bella: APHA like her mom, she was also born sorrel, she is overo, and she is also turning gray. Right now she is a pinkish color, or rather rose gray. I don't know its hard to explain. Bella will be started under saddle this spring. She is 3 years old. She is not part of my breeding program and I bred to get her because I loved her sire and he is no longer living. I wanted a foal our of him before he passed. He had a rare form of cancer, not hereditary but he was also an aged stallion and was a champion show horse. He is very missed.

Diamond: APHA and Tricks full sister. I got her mother, Rubicon, and she gave me this beautiful black bay filly. Diamond is almost 2 years old now and a super sweet wonderful filly. She has taken up with Rebel and they are together most of the time. Where you find one you generally find the other. I will do her ground work this year and she will wear a saddle for some of the ground work but she will not be ridden for another year. I am not planning to put her in my breeding program at this time. This is subject to change however.

Navy Cat: Registered JC and off the track Thoroughbred mare. She is 5 this year and was last raced in September 2014. She is going to spend this year learning how to be a regular horse. She is in my breeding program and I am planning on breeding her this year while she is getting use to being a country horse. She, obviously, has been ridden (by a jockey) and I will be retraining her to ride. I have had a western saddle on her and worked with her a bit. She was a mess when she came but is very healthy now and show her exuberance without hesitation. She bobs her head and smiles at you on occasion when you are bringing her feed out to her. She has gotten a lot better and has learned that gates and doorways will not eat her like she was convinced that they would. Cat is the great grand daughter of Secretariat. She is a dark Bay. Yes I love my bays as well.

Pasha: Registered JC and off the track Thoroughbred mare. She has been off the track for about 4 years now and was a trail horse. She will be my competition horse. She is completely broke to ride and just joined the ranch as of last Sunday. We drove 3 hours to pick her up and she was well worth it. She is a dark bay and so beautiful. She and Cat look just alike and they wasted no time becoming friends. She has already been a great influence on Cat, as Cat will come into the barn through the doorway just to visit with Pasha. I will eventually breed Pasha and her former owner will probably get a foal out of her on down the road. Pistol was very taken with her and thought he had to put on his Romeo act for her. He curled his neck and strutted his stuff. Both thoroughbreds are caslicked and those will be removed soon.

Cinder: APHA Tobiano, sorrel and white. She may be on the smaller side but she is stout. She is a sweetheart and had a rough start. I am not sure she is going to be in the breeding program at this time. She is a youngster, 3 years old I believe and will be started under saddle this year. She will be easy just as the others will be. She is a trusting filly now, where she wasn't before.

That concludes the list of our ranch family, at least the horse part. They are all very happy. Cat and Josie will be sporting their blankets this evening as the weather changes once again back to winter. COME ON SPRING!! Wes and I are going to be showing this summer along with some other things that we want to do. Stud pens will be built this summer as well. Fences will be worked on and well just regular ranch stuff that never ends.

Have a grand day and stay warm.

Day 3 for Pasha

Well two nights and 2 and a half days in the barn and Pasha is about done with that crap. She wants out. Heck I don't blame her. She likes her friends. You can hear her whinny from the house if you are outside. She is certainly voicing her opinion regarding being stalled. That's ok, she can voice it all she wants but until the weekend she is in the barn. I'd rather have her whinny than act a fool when I am not home. Not that I think she would but she will be with Cat and the boys so I am not so sure they won't get playful and I want to be there when they do so I can be on guard. I will be glad when spring gets here and I can turn everyone out. The boys will have to stay in the small pasture but I will let the mares out to the big pasture.
Can't wait till it warms up. I want to go ride and I want the days to get longer so I can go ride after work. I actually could use a day or two off. Hopefully soon.
All in all Pasha is doing really really well. I think she will do even better once she is out of her stall.

Pasha

Still hard to see her because she is so dark.
Pretty girl.

Good Cloudy Cold Morning

Pasha had a great night. I always worry when I first get a horse home. I went to check on her just before dark last night. She was splashing water with her nose. Everyone was getting along and I don't think she will be in her stall long. Cat is a little over the top with exuberance so I want her to calm down a bit before I let Pasha out with her. I am sure they will be fine. Every horse that comes home goes into a stall for a week or so though. Standard procedure.
Pasha is a very pretty Bay. So now I have two bay Thoroughbreds. Wes and I have matching horses now. Just to get Cat retrained now.

I am so thankful to Ashly for this beautiful mare. When she gets settled and all her ducks in a row she has the option of getting a foal out of Pasha. Its the least I can do for her. I really wish we could have spent more time at the stable yesterday but Ashly is limited to what she can do because she is due to have a baby soon. Can't wait for pictures Ashly! She has a little girl that loves to be a country kid, which was very cute. She was pestering mommy about riding the pony. LOL. And later I did see pics of her riding the pony with her grandpa's help. Thank you again Ashly. Pasha will have a really good home.

Trick raised his head when Pasha whinnied in the trailer yesterday but didn't come to see who or what was up. Maybe just maybe he is losing some of his studly acting attitude. Its only been FOUR YEARS since I gelded him. Walked Pasha to her stall without issue of the herd coming to say hi but then I did throw them hay before I took Pash to the barn. I am no dummy. LOL. Pasha was taking in everything around her yesterday when I unloaded her. She was wide eyed for sure. Pasha is caslicked so I will have to get those removed. I will just take her with Cat and get them removed.

Cumos is still limping on her back leg. Can't find anything really wrong with her hoof other than she just broke part of it off on the frozen ground a few days ago. I checked it again last night and it looks fine. I need to get the jagged part clipped off but am hesitant because she is sore. Trying to let her get a little better before I do it. I had it wrapped and that seemed to help a little. It looked fine last night so kept it unwrapped. Of course all the MUD is not helping. Might be putting her in the barn for a few days where it is dry. Hopefully the ground will dry up in the next couple days since we don't have anymore snow or rain coming. She is such a good girl I don't even have to have her halter and lead on her to check it. She just stands there and lets me do whatever I want. She is just a good filly.

Well gotta go for now. More later with some pictures I hope. Its awful dreary today and cloudy so don't know if it will be light enough to get good pics. Pasha is a really dark bay so need light and the flash on my camera phone makes everything look orange for some reason. Trying to figure that one out.

Welcome Pasha

It was to late to get pictures this evening but please welcome Pasha. She is out newest member of the family. She will be 10 years old March 3. She is completely broke to ride, has very good manners, walks nicely on lead and is very very tall. I'd like to see a few more pounds on her but that should be easy. Now for the mud to dry up.
Trick came to say hello to her, Cat came to say hello, Pistol strutted his stuff and said hey baby. Bo came to say hi but didn't really care that she is a mare. Josie didn't bother. Cat is pretty intrigued by Pasha. Almost like they know each other. Heck they look just alike.
It was a nice road trip. Wes and I went together. He kept me laughing.
The weather was perfect. We had to change a tire on the trailer on the way back. It blew the tread. Took about 10 minutes.
We got home, got Pasha settled into her stall and got chores done. We had a great time together. The stable we picked her up at was over the top kinda fancy. Had to go through a guard gate and everything. Have to state your business, they take your name and plate number on your vehicle. They had a nice arena. A lot of people were there. Ashly was very sweet and it was nice to meet her. She will be coming to visit. It's only 3 hours away.
Will get pictures tomorrow I hope.

Lol Silly Girl

Went out and fed this evening. Standing at the fence was Cat ( well along with everyone else) but Cat was bobbing her head up and down and smiling. Yes smiling. She is doing this more and more. It is very adorable and I love her personality.
She is a pure joy andi love her so much.

Another pup got a family tonight. She has two children to grow up with a cat and another small dog. She got a really good home.

Time to go to sleep. Wes is home tonight. He is already out cold. He is off work the rest of the week.

Regarding Website / update

With regards to my old website, it is no longer a valid website. Tripod is making everyone switch over to some other format and I just don't like it. I have requested for the front page of the website to be taken down/deleted as I can not do it because of their changes. So far no luck with getting any help on this. FIGURES!
At some point in time I may put up another site but until I find one that I like and can be maintained easily I will just not have one. It was a giant pain in the butt anyway. I can not even retrieve my photos from the gallery because they have disabled all features for the tripod/lycos site.

If anyone has any suggestions for a website I am all ears. So far I have found nothing I like and am leaning towards having someone just do one for me.

Had the website for many years, it will be missed.

UPDATE: Finally got a helpful response from tripod/lycos. The
Website has been removed.

Love this

Praying for some slow down

Its been a nutso week. Praying for some down time for Wes and I. I think we will take a drive this weekend.
Its been so busy and so crazy with this weather I even forgot to put on my regular boots this morning and wore my muck boots to work today. Of course didn't realize this till I got to work. ( shaking my head) At least they are warm. Got a rip in the top of one of them, see previous post, and patched it. Not looking for a fashion statement just don't want my boots leaking. I have had these Muck boots for over 5 years and I love them. They are so warm and comfortable. So now they won't leak cause the patch did the trick.
 HEHE.
I have gotten a lot done today. I got the nomination form printed and filled out, ready to send in. Now to get 3 coggins done. Pasha will get one done so I can take her to play.
May do a 4th one as well. Depends on if Wes wants to compete or not and if he just wants to ride Pasha. We could share. Only have a 3 horse trailer so will have to think about this one.
Coggins in a couple weeks.

OTTB

Ok so can't wait to get my hands on the new OTTB. She is going to be 10 years old March 3. She is very broke to ride and going to be my barrel horse. I also hope that she will help Cat adjust to her new lifestyle as well. They look just alike, yes another bay. She was nominated for the breeders cup and her last race was in 2011. She did win some money. Now she is done racing and will just be a play horse and trail horse. She is apparently very sweet. Pictures to come when I get her home, so as I yell "ROAD TRIP" which I haven't done in a while because I actually haven't done the whole road trip thing in years. I did make up a paper for Wes that said something to the effect that I would not bring any more horses home after this one, and I did sign it. He DID hang it up on the fridge with a good strong magnet. Hummm. Guess I have to stick to it now.
It was pretty funny, I handed it to him and he read it and said "ok where are we going?" I said its a secret. He mentioned where he THOUGHT I was going to go and I said OH HELL NO!!!! I informed him I would NEVER go there again. Besides there is nothing there that would fit our program anyway and I would probably go to jail. I think the new mare will fit nicely into the group.
Cat was not her usual self this morning. She really just picked at her food, seems a little sore, but the ground is uneven because it was mushy and then froze so its like walking on jagged rock. So I think tonight she will go into the barn if they don't have it smoothed out by this evening. I hate to put her in the barn because she just really doesn't like it at all, but its better than her being sore or worse, getting hurt. So in the barn she will have to go.
The new girl will go in the barn for about the first week and then she will get turned out with Cat and Josie and the boys. At some point I need to get the boys separated from Cat and the new one and Josie. I hope to turn the girls all out by spring.
I love the new feed that I have them on now, and the protein tub is a hit!! They love it.
Bo is over half as tall as Cat and Cat is at least 16 hands. I'm growing them big now days. Pistol is the same and they haven't reached a year old yet. Time has really flown with those two. Seems like we just got them and already they are so big with nice big butts. It's only cost me a small fortune. I've managed to pay for it all by myself!!! That is a great accomplishment and one I am very proud of. Determination and lots of hard work. It's worth it!
Cat is fine this evening. That's a relief. Wes got home early today and texted me she was ok. I guess frozen ground is something new to her and to be honest a lot of the horses had trouble walking on it. She was back to her old self. Let's talk about the swamp that is now every part of the horse pen, turnout, pasture and well everywhere. Squish, slop, squish, slop. It is nasty and we are getting snow tomorrow.
Wes has to go to work at midnight tonight. STUPID! It's not suppose to start snowing till noon. So he is upstairs sleeping and I'm downstairs watching tv. I need a couple days off to catch up on some stuff around here and I can't wait till summer when these dogs can be OUT most of the time.
Well no more tonight.

Boot repair

Tire patches work for boot repair to.

Holy Cow Cold

OMG It is way to cold. I mean I think the cold is cold. Fun times feeding in this crap. I think its suppose to warm a bit today. Heck even the upper 30's would be nice. That's pretty bad when you think the upper 30's is a good temp. LOL. BURRRRR. I don't thinks its this cold where my daughter lives and she lives in the mountains. We needed the moisture though and when it warms a bit it is going to be a sloppy mess to say the least.

Wes is off work now till Monday. Yup he has put in that much time at work that he is done for the week. Of course I haven't seen much of him at all but that is just winter time. Tossing and turning at night, just do not sleep well at all. At least we will get to spend this evening together. Winter time our conversations are done through text and talking on the phone. Better than nothing at all. He will go on days next week so if he is called out it will be during the day instead of being called out for overnights. He said it was boring last night. Was done by midnight which meant that he had till 7:30 this morning to just.............be.

Sun is out! YAY!

Mountains

My daughters view every day but she lives at the base of those mountains. San Fransisco Peaks, Flagstaff, Arizona.
So pretty.

Another work night

Well Wes is off at work again tonight. He is on nights right now and it blows. Kinda like two ships passing in the night.
I think cat was actually glad to have her blanket out back on this morning. Josie of course wears her gladly and everyone else has done super well without one. Must be the layers of fat on their big butts. Pigs.
Everyone lined up at feeding time tonight. It was funny. Cat has taken to bouncing her dead up and down and lifting her lip slightly at feeding time. It's to funny. I hope to get a pic of her or video doing it. She is funny and learning how to be a country horse.
Pasha will be here this weekend. Seems like I had another horse named Pasha one time. I think that was her name, Arab I believe.
Will be glad when it warms up a bit. It's gonna be miserable tonight.
Sleep would be good but I don't see it happening.
Oh well.
Time to at least try.

Can you say snowing like a bitch

Ceramics

Got to say I am digging this whole ceramics thing. I use to do it when I was a kid and now I am doing it again. Found someone that makes it, has green ware and I can do everything myself from cleaning to painting. I loved it when I was a kid and I am really loving it now. Something about making things that is just relaxing. It's green ware right now. Has to be fired now. Then painted.

White Shit

Well it came.
It's pretty till you have to go slopping around in it.
Kai came out to get breakfast along with Cinder and Kumos. They hang in the barn.
Yummy protein tub
Nom nom breakfast. Bo says peek a boo
Josie doing fab
Cat loving the weather and full of herself but staying dry
Part of the gang, others are in the barn

Didn't really get to much but it is a heavy wet snow.

Everyone is taking turns at the protein tub. They hit it hard at first and haven't made a dent. That's a good thing!! I'm liking this protein tub thing!!
